Chris Cagle Forced to Cancel Concert Tour
Press Release - Thursday, September 9, 2004
PENDLETON, OR – Chris Cagle, the opening act of the Chase Home Finance Pendleton Round-Up and Happy Canyon Concert, is canceling his current tour due to medical problems.
Cagle was to open for Brad Paisley Saturday, September 11, at the Happy Canyon Arena.
“Our client is exercising his right to cancel the engagement due to a medical emergency.” Said Gayle Holcomb, senior vice president of the William-Morris Agency.
Pendleton Round-Up and Happy Canyon officials are currently looking to find a replacement for Cagle.
“It’s an extremely unfortunate incident and we wish Chris well and a speedy recovery,” said Doug Corey, Happy Canyon Director. “We are in the process of finding a replacement for an opening act.” Corey also said that concert headliner Brad Paisley will lengthen his show Saturday night. “Brad has graciously offered to expand his portion of the show.”
This is the second time this year that Cagle has had to cancel a portion of his tour because of a medical emergency. The Capitol recording artist was put on complete vocal rest after he damaged his vocal chords while singing early this year.
Brad Paisley, nominated for two Grammys earlier in 2004, has earned seven major award trophies and been named NSAI's "Songwriter of the Year." His latest hit gives him a total of three number-one singles, five top-five hits and seven top-10s. Meanwhile, the video of "I'm Gonna Miss Her" was awarded the CMT Flameworthy Concept Video of the Year.
“We’ve had several people tell us they have seen Brad’s show earlier this year and that he is a tremendous performer,” said Tim Mabry, Pendleton Round-Up Director. “We’re looking forward to seeing him here.”
I'm praying for chris and hopeing he gets better soon.
